## The product
PathMax provides an on-device aptitude quiz and a Path Optimizer that ranks possible routes toward a career family. Tagline: *Don’t choose a college. Choose the highest-return path to your future.* Commercial offer: spend $49 with us before you spend $100,000 on college. Price is a one-time unlock (`path_optimizer`), not a subscription, unless we later publish a different offer.
## Not advice, not a guarantee
PathMax is an estimation and comparison tool.
- We do **not** guarantee admission, transfer, graduation, a job, or earnings. - Ability Index is **not** an IQ score, **not** a percentile rank, and **not** a medical or educational diagnosis. - Prestige vs value cards are **estimates**. - AI-era demand is a **0–100 estimate** with a one-line reason. It is **not** a claim that AI will eliminate a job by a stated percent. - Texas Direct / THECB core-curriculum language is policy context, not a promise that your courses will transfer or that a university will admit you.
You are responsible for checking with schools, sponsors, licensure boards, and employers.
## License to use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive license to use the app. Do not reverse-engineer the gateway to steal provider credentials. Do not scrape the bundled item bank to republish it as a licensed psychometric test — it is an original PathMax bank, not a clinical instrument.
## Purchases
When Play Billing product `path_optimizer` is live, Google’s refund and payment terms apply. Debug and sideload builds may unlock the optimizer so reviewers can exercise the product; that is not a public coupon.
## Data
See `legal/PRIVACY.md`. You agree that figures shown as estimates may come from public datasets or labeled fallbacks when live keys are absent.
## Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, PathMax is provided “as is.” We are not liable for college, training, or job decisions you make after using estimates. This product is not professional engineering services and is not offered under a personal or firm professional-engineer identity.
